"VZWO ScytheSerif" is designed and realized by Viktor Zumegen. It is a blackletter typeface that is highly constructed and "flowing" at the same time. The sweeping curves of the letters pick up each other and are continued by calligraphic elements. The result is a closed typeface with a strong emphasis on the horizontal lines through its impressive serifs. High contrast, extreme stroke endings, sharp curves as well as straight lines are dominating the typeface. The typeface often uses contextual alternates and has a stylistic set that makes it possible to create an “endless tape of type”. VZWO ScytheSerif pursues the goal to turn type into an image.
